ANKARA, 8 February 2019: Pakistan’s iconic actor, Ms. Roohi Bano passed away on 25 January at a hospital in Istanbul. As per doctors’ advice, she was buried at a graveyard in Istanbul.
Pakistan Embassy in Ankara and Pakistan Consulate General in Istanbul are in constant contact with the family of late Ms. Roohi Bano for every possible assistance regarding transferring the remains of Ms. Roohi Bano to Pakistan.
According to Turkish health authorities, the body can be exhumed after 3 months, at least. Pakistan Embassy and Consulate will fully facilitate transfer of the remains of Ms. Roohi Bano to Pakistan, if so desired by the family.
In view of the great loss suffered, the bereaved family has desired that media may be requested to kindly respect the privacy of the family during these difficult times and desist from frequently contacting the family.
Pakistan Embassy would update the media regarding repatriation of the remains of Ms. Roohi Bano to Pakistan, if so desired by the family, in due course.
