ISTANBUL, 30 March 2012: With the objective to showcase the beauty and cultural diversity of Pakistan and to reinforce the existing bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the people of Pakistan and Turkey, the Consulate General of Pakistan has organized a Fashion Show and Pakistan Food Gala on 3rd April 2012 at Sheraton hotel in Istanbul. The event is an extension of Pakistan Cultural Week celebrations held earlier at Ankara under the theme ‘Jeevay Jeevay Pakistan.’
Consul General Istanbul Dr. Yousaf Junaid said main objective of the event is to reinforce the eternal bonds of brotherhood and friendship between Turkey and Pakistan. We want the people of Istanbul to enjoy and appreciate the cultural diversity and growing fashion industry of Pakistan, he added.
Known as Pakistan’s queen of classic haute couture, Ms Nilofer Shahid will present a fashion show on the theme of ‘Iqbal and Rumi.’ Later on, the guests will be served a variety of food from Pakistani cuisine. Chefs from Pakistan, specially brought to Turkey for the cultural week events, will prepare the food.
